Enhanced Environment Housing System

Enhanced Environment Housing System

Our Enhanced Environmental Housing Systems ensure safety, security, accessibility, efficiency, operational flexibility and attention to the animal's psychological well-being.  Our modular systems are designed to foster the social housing of primates in accordance with the USDA/APHIS regulations under the Animal Welfare Act and USPHS policy.

We offer sturdy and functional Housing Systems to fit virtually any space or configuration requirement.  Our systems include two modules:  an Apartment Module, which contains two compartments, one above the other, and an Activity Module, which is a single full-height enclosure.

Our module systems allow units to be mixed and matched in a variety of configurations, creating a complex room - yet each animal can still be easily isolated.  This modular approach also provides flexibility as housing needs change or grow.  Opening the transfer doors of several adjoining modules creates group housing for primates in what is essentially a complex room.  However, every animal in the group can easily be isolated and accessed simply by closing the appropriate transfer doors.

Our Housing Systems modules are available in two different sizes with 6.0 or 9.0 square feet of floor space.  All modules have two transfer doors on each side panel.  Other popular features include:

- Flush System - Automatic Watering - Introduction Doors
- Lookout Features - Metabolism Pans - Foraging Board

Safety Door
The horizontal side sliding Safety Door is designed to make use of the Pole-and-Collar Handling System.  By locking open approximately two inches, this Safety Door helps prevent aggressive animals from jumping on the handler or escaping.

Transfer Doors
Our Transfer Doors facilitate cage changes by moving animals without transfer boxes.  Opening the Transfer Doors on adjoining modules provides additional floor space for exercise and social interaction.  While the Transfer Doors provide visual contact, the front portion is a solid panel, allowing the animal to avoid eye contact from a dominant neighbor.

Squeeze-Back Mechanism
The mechanism is the best in the business.  It features a trigger latch for one-handed operation and locks every one inch in its movement range.

Feeders
Our Feeders lock to the housing unit.  Hinged lids snap closed to reduce feed waste.  A feed observation window allows for easily monitored consumption.  By removing the observation windows, animals can be trained to present arms and legs for procedures.

Braking Systems
Our patented Braking Systems lock in place, using a unique retractable front caster system.  The two rear casters are fixed to the unit's frame to secure the back of the module while the transfer doors are open.
